Jan Figgener holds a M.Sc. in electrical engineering and economics, received from RWTH Aachen University after studying in Aachen and Istanbul.
Since 2017, he has been working at the Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives (ISEA) at RWTH Aachen University
Since 2021, he has been Head of the Grid Integration and Storage System Analysis leading a research group with a focus on electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, stationary storage systems, sector coupling, and battery aging.
Within his work, he advises national and international ministries, agencies, and companies on the topic of battery storage.
