As a doctor of physics, I have been working at the BMW Group since the development of the BMW i3 on the topics of charging and integration of electric vehicles into energy networks/markets and the resulting business models. In the funded research project Bidirectional Charging Management, I was responsible for the V2G use case. In a trial run on the energy market (intraday), we successfully marketed the flexibility gained from charging and discharging processes from a pool of 20 bidirectional electric vehicles, provided grid system services (redispatch) and received customer feedback.
