As a senior advisor to the Brussels-based think tank Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP) team, Jaap Burger focuses on smart EV charging, including V2G, and the European and national policies that maximise its potential for a clean, reliable, equitable and cost-effective energy future. His work focuses on the services and policies that link user and grid needs, enabling the full user and system benefits of EV charging flexibility.

With 15 years of working experience in EV charging infrastructure deployment and vehicle-grid integration with grid operators, public authorities and energy innovators, he has gained first-hand insight into smart charging from both a business and policy perspective. His most recent work includes a survey of consumer-facing EV smart charging apps and services across Europe.
